I’d been wanting to check out The Little Bakery in South Queensferry for long enough and a Monday during the October school holidays just happened to be the perfect date. I was meeting another teacher friend and I had decided on our venue.

Admittedly, it wasn’t the best of first impressions as our table had randomly been cancelled and the place was full, understandably with the current boom in cafe culture. However, we were helped out by a gentleman who I assume was the manager or owner, whom sorted us out with a table as soon as he could.

I started with a creamy latte and ordered the Eggs Benedict with bacon with the eggs being poached to perfection – super runny which I love! My friend ordered the mushroom avocado bruschetta which she also loved but thought the portion size was a little on the small-side. Room for cake however and cake we did. I had a ginormous slice of the coffee and walnut cake and my friend had a cinnamon bun with lashings of icing in the middle. The Little Bakery is buzzing with family & friends catch-ups, dog’s and babies and is full of sweet & savoury deliciousness.
