I’m just home from a lovely lunch at Papercup in Motherwell. A delightful little brunch spot with a delicious offering. We started with an iced latte and decaf maple syrup iced latte on this muggy 24°c day.
Sharon had the huevos rancheros and man did it look good! I immediately had food envy, however I had my eye on a breakfast bun after spying someone with a runny egg on theirs on entry to the cafe.
I went for the sausage, halloumi, fried egg, umami mayo, rocket bun. I was initially dubious about the halloumi sausage combo but I needn’t have been, it all tasted so fresh and packed full of flavour and I got my runny egg! Vegan options available on both items.
Sharon mentioned cake, I was quite full but I didn’t take much persuasion. Sharon had the white chocolate brownie and I the blondie, there was a bit of saltiness to it which made it even more moreish!
I finished with a hot latte and a very full belly! Papercup was busy, a nice vibe and friendly staff. I’d definitely return if I was in the area in future.
