The British Hamper Company | Tuggy Tucks In

I was delighted to be gifted a Luxury Scottish Hamper to review from The British Hamper Company. The packaging is undoubtedly British with mini red post & phone boxes. Unwrapping the box and lifting the lid revealed a whole host of Scottish goodies: Mackie’s Scotch Bonnet Chilli Pepper Crisps, Duncan’s of Deeside Oatcakes, Shortbread House of Edinburgh shortbread, Nudie Snacks Premium Coconut Chips (I’ll tell you now, my favourite item in the box), Coco Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate and Galloway Lodge Poacher’s Pickle & Raspberry Jam.

I am a proud Scottish consumer and the hamper is a nice well-rounded representation of some superb Scottish food companies. I have visited Coco’s chocolate shop on Broughton Street in Edinburgh and I have always loved their beautiful packaging, supporting Scottish businesses is something I’m very passionate about and I have purchased Coco’s chocolate separately as a gift and I think it compliments the other Scottish goodies in the hamper.

What’s more Scottish than shortbread? Shortbread House of Edinburgh’s vibrant packaging and moreish bite size Scottish rounds go perfect with a cup of tea!

Oh my goodness what a treat it was to discover these gluten free, vegan, protein rich coconut chips by Nudie Snacks, I gobbled this packet up in a matter of minutes, definitely the wild card in the box but a product not to be missed, thank you The British Hamper Company for bringing this delicious Scottish snack product into my life!

I love Mackies, I love how they have branched out across the years from ice cream to chocolate and crisps. The packaging and flavour grabbed my attention right away, I adore sweet chilli crisps so I was keen to try Scotch Bonnet chilli and it did not disappoint, a good amount of spice, a perfect accompaniment with a Scottish beer.

I love cheese, and Galloway Lodge’s Poachers Pickle pairs up perfectly with some fruity Wensleydale or indeed without if you’re like my boyfriend who doesn’t like cheese. I topped the pickle on the Duncan’s of Deeside Oatcakes and I may have eaten a little more that features in this picture as they were so delicious!

With some overripe bananas I got to work rustling up a homemade banana bread, I like to follow the Hemsley Sisters recipe using only natural sugars. Banana bread goes great topped with Galloway Lodge’s raspberry jam, a winning combination, one of the best raspberry jams I’ve tasted.

Although I’ve only featured the Luxury Scottish Hamper, the company offer a whole host of hampers for any occasion you can think of from a Luxury Afternoon Tea Hamper which I know my granny would love to receive as a gift (as would I) or a Gluten Free Hamper that would be perfect for my mum who is coeliac. A really thoughtful gift that takes a lot of the hassle out of thinking of Christmas gifts, there really is a hamper for everyone.
